Ahmed bin Mohammed commends the Arab Media Forum’s role as a platform for constructive dialogue

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, welcomed delegates and guests of the landmark 20th edition of the Arab Media Forum, which kicked off in Dubai today under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed commended the contribution of the long-standing platform to discussing key issues related to the present and future of regional and global media. “Since its inception, following the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the AMF has grown to become a platform for dialogue, contributing to media development in the region and promoting the Arab media’s ability to keep pace with global changes. Dubai and the UAE recognise the role of media as a key development partner and a mirror that reflects and helps discuss social issues. Media is a tool that highlights inspirational models that encourage future generations in the region’s development journey. The UAE’s leadership is keen to support Arab media and enable it to face all challenges by fostering dialogue between stakeholders. Given its role in conveying the UAE’s success story to the world, the media sector is of paramount importance to the UAE,” His Highness said.
“Dubai continues to collaborate with its regional and global partners to serve the evolution of the Arab media landscape, learn about the latest technologies that can be harnessed to develop the region’s media as well as global trends that could positively impact it, and enhance the interaction of Arab audiences with media outlets in the future.”
His Highness congratulated media professionals who contributed to the success of the event over the last two decades, adding that Dubai will continue developing new initiatives to serve the region’s media, encourage professionals to reach the pinnacle of excellence and retain the audience’s confidence, and positively impact the audience. He also underscored the importance of discovering media talent and enabling youth to contribute to media development.
Launched by the DPC over 20 years ago, AMF is one of the major events in DPC’s annual calendar of events. The Arab world’s largest media gathering, AMF has emerged as the most comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange in the Arab media community. The annual platform, which attracts thousands of prominent thought leaders, has steadily evolved in scope and reach to encompass a broad international outlook.
