Egyptian Prime Minister receives Mona Al Marri
His Excellency Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, received Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office and President of Dubai Press Club (DPC), at his office in Cairo, Egypt. The meeting was part of a three-day visit of a UAE media delegation to Cairo led by HE Al Marri. The delegation includes Emirati media leaders, academics and editors in chief.
Organised by DPC, the visit features a series of meetings with Egyptian media industry leaders focused on discussing how the two sides can work together to shape a positive future for media in the region.
HE Dr. Madbouly commended the key contributions of the UAE in various sectors and the strong bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE under the leadership of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi.
HE Dr. Madbouly conveyed his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He wished His Highness and the UAE people continued success, progress and prosperity. He also commended the achievements of the Emirati media sector.
HE Al Marri expressed her appreciation to the Egyptian Prime Minister for hosting the meeting, which she said will help forge strong cooperation between the media industries of UAE and Egypt.
During the meeting, the Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office briefed the Prime Minister on Dubai’s efforts to support the growth of Arab media. She also spoke about Dubai Press Club’s events such as the Arab Media Forum and Arab Journalism Award that have contributed to the regional media sector’s development. HE Al Marri said the events aim to promote excellence in Arab journalism and raise standards of excellence in regional media.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Maitha Bu Humaid, Director of Dubai Press Club.
The UAE media delegation is currently in Cairo as part of a three-day visit to hold talks with officials of the Arab League, National Media Authority and the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate. The visit, taking place from 13-17 September, also features meetings with chief editors of local newspapers and prominent media figures.
