Etisalat and Emirates NBD Announced as Sponsors of Social Media Influencers Diploma Programme

The Arab Social Media Influencers Club (ASMIC) of the Dubai Press Club (DPC) announced Emirates NBD as the ‘Banking Sponsor’ and Etisalat as the ‘Communication Sponsor’ of the Social Media Influencers Diploma Programme. The academic programme, accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education, is the first of its kind in the region that seeks to train Arab social media influencers in strategic communications, develop their skills and capabilities and enable them to produce effective content on social media platforms.

Director of Dubai Press Club Maitha Buhumaid expressed her happiness and appreciation for the support of the sponsors of the Diploma Programme. She said that partnerships between DPC and leading local establishments have been expanded to cover most of the projects, events and initiatives undertaken by DPC. Buhumaid further said that the support extended to DPC reflects the sponsors’ belief in the important role that social media influencers play.

Ahmed Bin Ali - Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, Etisalat said, “Etisalat is honoured to support the efforts of DPC to further develop the media sector and take it towards new horizons of creativity and innovation. The huge success of the Arab Social Media Influencers Club validates the vision of Dubai Press Club and its deep understanding of the vital role of social media networks in enhancing effective and meaningful communication.”

“This partnership stems from our belief in the importance of innovative and creative Arab content and our appreciation of the contributions being made by social media influencers to their communities,” he continued.

Hesham Abdulla Qassim Al Qassim, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD Bank said, “This partnership is part of our commitment to fostering creative talent and is in line with Emirates NBD’s belief in the important role of social media networks in shaping the future of business in the region. We are proud to support the Arab Social Media Influencers Club and its efforts to advance excellence among Arab social media influencers.”

A joint initiative developed by DPC and the Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC) of the American University in Dubai (AUD), the Social Media Influencers Diploma Programme kicked off in September for the first batch of 20 participants, who include prominent media personalities and aspiring influencers. The Programme covers a total six courses over a period of eight months, providing UAE-based influencers with comprehensive knowledge in many areas including strategy, content creation and technology.
